How It Works

The four-step process

1. Call

Tell us what you've got. Rough volume estimate, what kind of items, and where you are. Photos help — email them to [email protected] after the call. We'll give you a flat quote on the spot.

2. Schedule

Same-day pickup if you call before 11 AM and you're in central Sioux Falls. Next-day standard otherwise. Estate cleanouts and large jobs get scheduled within 3-7 days after a free walkthrough.

3. We haul it

Two-person crew shows up in our truck. We bring dollies, blankets to protect floors, and the right equipment for stairs, disassembly, or tight spaces. You don't lift anything.

4. Pay on completion

The price quoted on the call is the price you pay. Card or cash. We text you a receipt. If anything was less than expected, we adjust down — never up.

Before we arrive

• Identify what's going. Mark or set aside anything you want to keep.
• For appliances — unplug, disconnect water lines, empty fridges and freezers
• For hot tubs — drain in advance (or let us know on the call to add drainage to the quote)
• Clear a path from the items to where our truck can park
• Set out a parking spot if street parking is tight (cones, signs, or a friend holding the spot)

What we do with your stuff

About 50-65% of what we pick up gets donated, recycled, or reused — not landfilled.

Donations go to Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, Community Warehouse, and local nonprofits depending on the item.

Metal appliances are recycled at certified facilities — refrigerators have refrigerants safely captured first as required by South Dakota DANR.

Yard debris goes to a Metro composting facility, not the landfill.

Mattresses are sent to a regional recycler that separates steel, foam, and wood for separate streams.

Construction debris is sorted at the transfer station — wood, metal, drywall to recyclers; only what can't be recovered goes to landfill.

Do you need to be home?

Not always. If items are in a clearly accessible spot (garage with a code, side yard, driveway) and we have your payment method, we can complete pickups without you there. Many customers schedule Friday pickups while they're at work.

For estate cleanouts, hoarder cleanups, and any job inside the house, we typically prefer the customer or someone authorized be present at the start so we can do a quick walkthrough. After that, you're free to leave.

Insurance & licensing

Sioux Falls Junk Pros is licensed and insured for residential and commercial hauling in South Dakota and surrounding states. We carry general liability and worker's comp coverage. COI documentation is available on request — useful for HOAs, property management contracts, and commercial clients.
